Welcome to Anahit Tsitsikian’s official webpage, home of the first world-renowned Armenian female-violinist to travel throughout the world during the Soviet period. She was a professor who taught at the Yerevan State Conservatory for about a half a century; a musicologist; and author of many articles, as well as scripts for television and radio programs. She was also doing scientific research where she established a systematic history of Armenian Performing Arts. The last 20 years of her life were dedicated to fundamental research in the field of ancient music history and in fact she became the founder of a new branch of Armenian musicology – “Musical Archaeology”.
On this webpage you can read about her art and her life, see a map of her voyages, learn about her repertoire and browse through her discography. You can also view a list of her key articles, a list of conferences she attended, as well as enjoy a photo gallery of well-known musicians, who she met and collaborated with throughout her career.
